Testing out the ScribeFire FireFox Plugin…
Why did it take for me this long to try out ScribeFire… So far it is working better than the DashBlog Firefox plugin.

So let us see what it can do….

I setup a flickr page but never used it. While following up on a one of my Twitter friends, I guess I was taken in with the quality of Flickr. I also found that you can post photos from flicr but their blogging system did not work that great for me.

By using DashBlog it made it quite difficult for me to give the owner of the picture a link to his or her flickr page. And I do not want to use a picture with consent, so while I was looking for a better system (as I need to replace picture I have used and believe me I now cannot get the Flickr page even if I have the name of the picture).

As today is Saturday I started out less focussed and soon I was listening to music, which I never use to make time for. After a while of that Blip.fm was getting boring as I could not get the search function to find nice christian music, and after trying out another site unsuccessfully I stated added some more plugins to my already bulky FireFox3 installation. It was then that I Stumbled Upon the ScriptFire Plugin.

Now here I am just mumbling on to test it out and obviously no one will read this far

So just for fun let me also try out this Youtube button…

funny crash video clips…

This is great stuff! ScribeFire also imported my current categories… which is just great!

Ok, I do not see a place where I can tick to have it posted as a draft, and I do not understand how the quote button works. But I do not care one bit!

WAIT! I found it! Just as I was about to post it to my blog, I got an option to post this to my blog as a draft post. Had to come back to tell you Now blog posting is starting to get REAL FUN!

Faster Status Updates: No need for a facebook login:
Use Twitter to update your Facebook Status.

No, even better – Get the Twitterfox Plugin for your firefox browser to update your twitter – which in turn will also update your facebook – all while you are browsing the internet…

If you stumble upon a website you like – the quickest way to share it with your closest friends is:

Click the T-logo in your firefox

Type an intro like ” looking at this great site that shows you how to update your facebook status”

Click a button that looks like a link and it will insert the url of the website you are looking at.

Wha-la! I mean Click “Enter”.

Here are the detailed steps you need to follow if you want to use this quick way to update your Facebook with your latest Facebook Status update.

Steps to get a free Twitter Account:

Sign up at Twitter.com (Click the link with your mouse wheel to open a new firefox tab)

Click the “Join Today” button

Fill in the form.

Opsional Step: Let Twitter log into your email account and check all your contacts for those emails not already registered at Twitter so that you can invite them to follow your tweets. If you do not want to invite anyone you may click “skip”.

Your Twitter account is now active – you may want to opsionally edit your profile by clicking on “settings” to change your Name (currently it looks like your username) and to change your TimeZone (where you are in the world) and to upload a profile picture from your computer

Open your Facebook and click on “applications” and then search for “Twitter”.

Click on “Twitter”

Click on “Goto Application” or “Add Aplication”

Click on “Allow” or “Add Twitter”

Fill the form with your twitter username and password and click “Login”

If you get an errorpage, just refresh your browser.

Click on”Allow twitter to Update your facebook status”

Click “Allow” / Tick Allow then click “Authorize”

Updating your Twitter account will now automatically do a Facebook Status Update

But to make it even more convenient you can install the TwitterFox Plugin for FireFox that I talked about earlier. Not only will you be able to update your Facebook from the browser or share a page with your facebook friends by clicking a link-icon in TwitterFox, you will also be able to follow what your friends are Twitting about. About that later…

Now the steps to install TwitterFox in your FireFox browser… Adding the Twitterfox Plugin as the same as adding other plugins for FireFox – so feel free to search for other plugins that will interest you.

Adding the Twitterfox application:

Go to the Mozilla Addon Website and search for “TwitterFox” or goto the TwitterFox Adon Page directly.

Click “Add to Firefox” button.

Click “Install now”

Click “Restart Firefox”

Tick “Do not ask me next time” & Click “Restart FireFox”

Once FireFox restarted it, close the “Addons” window”

Do you see a Twitter “t” logo at the bottom?

If yes then your Twitter now needs to be setup, and if not showing then you just have to install a compatible FireFox theme. Do not worry as it is easy to do and I will take you through the steps…

TwitterFox do not work in the default theme and this may require you to update your theme. It is about time as there are so many themes out there that you use to personolize your FireFox Browser.

Steps to install a new theme for your FireFox:

Open the FireFox Add-Ons Page where you downloaded Twitterfox

Click on “Categories”

Click “Themes”

Click On “Browse Themes” for a wider choice.

Choose a theme you like

A green “Add to FireFox” button will indicate that it will work with your FireFox.

Click the green “Add to FireFox” button

Click “install now”

Click “Restart FireFox”

Your Firefox Web Bowser now has a new look. This gives you two options:

Do you like the theme? If not then go change the theme again

Is the TwitterFox “t”-logo showing on the bottom right? If not then go change the theme again.

I believe by now you have the “t”-logo of TwitterFox displayed in your FireFox Web Browser and you have to set your TwitterFox to collect your Twitter information and Send out your Tweets to Twitter.

Steps to Add you Twitter Account to your TwitterFox:

Right click on the T-logo – click preferences – click “add acount”

add your Twitter username and password” – click OK

Choose intervals that Twitterfox must check for Updates – click OK

If you get an error…:

You just entered your Twitter account details incorrectly

Right click on the t-logo

Click “Preferences”

Click “Remove Account”

Click “Add Acount” like above and try again.

Testing your Twitterfox:

Click on the T-logo

You should see a list of my latest tweets.

Make sure that blog post you are reading is in the background

Write in the space below my tweets your comment on having succesfully installed TwitterFox but do not use the “ENTER” on your keyboard.

Click the small icon that looks like a link of a chain. It should insert a link in your Tweet.

Press enter to update your status.

You can close the Twitterfox window.

Open Twitter.com to see that your update is there.

Open your facebook homepage to see that your facebook status is also updated.

More TwitterFox Tips:

How to Reply to Twitter Text:
If you see a Tweet of someone you are following you can publicly reply by using the reply icon next to the TwitterFox Tweet or you can start by Typing “@ UserName “followed by your Tweet.

How to Send Direct Messages using TwitterFox:
You can also send Direct Messages by starting to type “d UserName “followed by your Tweet. Their response will be available in the messages tab of your TwitterFox where there will be the option to click on a reply icon. Direct messages usually gets sent to the Twitter User’s email but this setting can be disabled.
