Of the more popular television brands are Samsung Plasma, LG Plasma, Panasonic Plasma tvs and Sony Plasma following in fourth place. Since there are fierce competition for the first place, and since not only size but also the quality of the plasma display influence the top 10 plasma tv placement.

Some of the recent Plasma tvs that were featured:

The Samsung 82” 2160p HDTV:

Wow. Those are some big screen HDtv’s! They are big in Japan. I wonder if they are overcompensating for something else?

Hi there Gert. I read your post about HDtv’s and I find the size very interesting. I wonder how much power they use? I see that they are advertising HDtv on the MNET channel with that guy from Survivor South Africa and the Parlotones playing their song in the background. Can’t afford such a BIG screen television yet.

Hi Daniel. Yes, being able to see the HDtv will depend on these:
    1) You have to have a HDtv television set
    2) You have to receive the HD signal
    3) And in some cases you will need to have a hdtv converter box antenna

  4. LG 60pg60 60 plasma HDtv (1 comments) on August 19th, 2008 4:14 pm MyAvatars 0.2

The LG 60pg60 60 plasma HDtv really outdo the competition. The LG series now has Full HD 1920 x 1080p resolution, hi-detail, smooth, and fast progressive-scan.

    Oh, I see Gert.

The prices of HDtv’s are probably still near the roof, but it will probably get cheaper as technology is upgraded and HDtv becomes more popular.

    Thanks

Considering that most analyst say that the number of pixels in 1080P is higher than most people can notice (based on the ration of distance, screen size verses distance to viewer.)

Since movies like Star Wars III was shot in 1080P using a Sony F950 (Yes I worked at an unnamed place :) ) and every cinema projected that movie on a massive theater screen and nobody complained, this will be fine.

Great post. Those Plasma TVs are really big. What kind of resolution would they need for something that big without compromising picture quality? Also they must be extremely expensive. The larger Plasmas seem to be getting more popular though as prices have been pretty low lately. I’ve seen more and more people buy 50 inch plasma TVs.

If you want it big like that or even bigger, projector and screen come out much cheaper and with as good image quality. You would have to turn down the lights a bit.

i dont think projector can even come close to big hdtv screen… you cant compare the way you see thing a live on the screen to the way you see them with a projector on the wall..
