Using traffic exchange sites from time to time could get you free traffic that could prove to be unresponsive and far from targeted.
The best conversion rate using free traffic exchanges is found when promoting fast loading squeeze pages. One may think that the leads will be more targeted since they have been picked via your squeeze page, but alas no.
Since the traffic-exchange traffic is free any lead that is unresponsive did not really cost you any money and they still get your emails. They may therefor start to learn about you and about what you write to your mailinglist about. This may lead to response which in turn will help you achieve your email marketing goals.

I signed up at Trafficswarm, but I do not have any ads running on it at the moment. Do you have any ads that are active at Trafficswarm at the moment or not? I do not use Trafficswarm ads for free traffic at the moment because I currently have Google Adsense on my blogs. You suggested to me previously that Google might not like clicks from traffic that came from free traffic exchanges.
Anyway, I will stick with Trafficswarm for the moment. When I have a blog or website that could use some traffic, I might put up an ad again.
As you pointed out, it is free traffic although it is untargeted traffic. It might be a case of something is better than nothing. If you have an opt-in list, you might get a handful of new subscribers. All for free and a couple of minutes worth of work.

Never use traffic exhanges to get people to your adsense monetized web pages. It may just be frowned upon as the best way to get traffic is supposed to be from search engines and links from forums and blog comments and web 2.0 site backlinks.
Yep, although I say it is untargeted – in a way it is targeted as the person that browse trafficswarm does it by choosing from a variety of possible advertiser links.
I suggest anyone looking to profit from using traffic exchanges, to get themselves a free autoresponder account and promote a squeeze page that captures the contact details of people that are interested in information around a specific niche.
Then just blog about the niche related affiliate products and have the autoresponder pick up all the blog posts and send it out to all the contacts on your list.
I constantly have all my trafficswarm credits used. I am focusing on promoting the trafficswarm service in stead of clicking for credits.
